ELECTION PETITION
HON. C. J. PARR’S CASE. The hearing of the petition against the election of the Hon. C. J. Parr, as member for Eden, has been adjourned until February 26th by Mir Justice Hosking, sitting in Chambers. An affidavit filed by Mr Parr set forth that a meeting of Parliament had been called for February 7th, the date at present arranged for the hearing of the • petition. The Parliamentary session, ft was added, would probably be short, and it was likely that in ite duration at least two votes of no-confidence in the Government would be moved. It was necessary in the public interest that Mr Parr should be in his. place in Parliament to answer any objection® which might be made to the administration of his departments, and make any explanations which might be required. Mr 0. P. Skerrett, K.C., appeared for Mr Parr, and Mr A. Gray, K.C., with him Mr Putnam, for the petitioner, opposed the application.
