GALLANT MAORI LAD
DROWNED IN WAIKATO RIVER. Por Press .Association. AUCKLAND, January 18. A Maori lad, Hina Whitu, 17 years of age, was drowned at Kimiha, near Huotly, while endeavouring to save another. Hori Tetahu. aged 8 years, who v. as also drowned. Tetahu was in a canoe with three others, crossing the Waikato river when it capsized. Tetahu’s body was washed up. Whitu was swimming to the rescue.
