Alacdonald Aspland, ftir some years in charge of Emmanuel Congregational Church, Palmerston North, has been inducted to the charge of First Presbyterian Church, Franktan. The Rev. I. Shimman, an Anglican clergyman from London, arrived by the Manuka from Sydney on a two months’ visit to New Zealand. He will afterwards take a church in Adelaide.'

The Hon. J. G. Coates (Minister fol Public Works and Postmaster-General) left Wellington on Wednesday night on a trip to the South Island on departmental business. The Minister, who will visit, amongst other places, Christchurch, Dunedin, Central Otago, and the Otria, is expected back in Wellington in about a fortnight.

Mr W. Salt, who has been appointed a member of the Tongariro National Park Board, is a well-known Wanganui contractor, but has been a frequenter and enthusiast of the park for many years past. Mr Salt is president of the Ruapehu ski and ice club, and is largely responsible for the development of Alpine sports, for which the. park is becoming famous.

The Hon. W. Nosworthy (Minister for Agriculture) left Wellington for the Southis land last night on departmental business. The Minister will visit Christchurch, and inspect the lucerne experimental plots in the Canterbury district, and may go as far afield as Southland. He is expected back in Wellington in about a week or ten days.

Elliot, senior supervisor ot the telegraphic branch of the Palmerston North Post Office, has been notified of his transfer on promotion to Wanganui, and at a meeting of the Lunch Club eulogistic reference to Mr Elliot was made by 'the chairman (Air D.
