DOMINION TOURNAMENT. THE OPENING GAMES. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 10. The tenth Dominion bowling* tournament opened to-day with the singles, ten greens being utilised and 600 bowlers taking part. 186 have entered for the singles, 200 pains for the pairs, and 576 in the rink games. A drizzle in the morning somewhat delayed the start and made the greeno heavy, hut the afternoon was fine and the greens played perfectly, though on the exposed greens the wind proved troublesome. Play throughout was of a high standard, and many good games were witnessed. Mr W. Ooltman (president of the New Zealand Association) officially opened the tournament, welcoming the visitors. The singles were played under the two-life system. The following had no losses in the five rounds played today:—_ Section A.—Addison (Rooky Nook). Section B. —■ Masefield (Waihi). Scantlebury (Auckland). Section C. —Macey (Remuera), Fielding (Hataitai). Section D. —Casey (Ponsonby), Hayden (Epsom). Section B. —Walker (Ponsonby). Section F.—Creswell (Wellington), , G. Oowley (Tauranga). Section G.—lngram (Wellington), Campbell (Ponsonby). Section H. —Forrester (Caversham), Johnson (Carlton). Section I.—Herd (Papanui). Jury (Ponsonby), J. and 'K. Pilkington (Hamilton), Osmond (Auckland).-
