WOOL SALE

WANGANUI WOOLBROKERS GOOD PRICES RULING. In connection with the wool sale at Wanganui, Messrs Murray, Kabcrts and Co.. Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs Smith. Webster and Co., report:— At the second sale of the season a total of 15,000 bales was submitted, our catalogue consisting of 703 bales, 'lhe attendance of buyers was large and representative of all sections of the trade. At the outset it was evident that the Continental buyers were strongly in the market, and set the nace for medium average conditioned wools and bulky pieces. French buyers confined their :t----tention mostly to lambs wool and Southdown lots. Bradford buyers operated keenly for average conditioned wools, and America competed for the top lines of crossbred offering. Compared with last sale there prices for low quality and average wools snowed an appreciation of to l|d per lb. Superior crossbred were firmer, while lambs wool showed au advance or up to a penny per lb, occasionally more for superior lots: pieces and bellies were firm, any change being In sellers favour. For all average wools showing -uality the keenest of competition was experienced, and sometimes up to twopence over last sale was paid. Growers ore to be congratulated on the successful result of the sale. We sold 95 per cent, or our catalogue.
