DAMAGE TO LAUNCH

JUVENILE COMMITTED TO H0A135. A juvenile, with a liking for the property of other people, appeared before Mr F. K. Hunt, S.AI., at the Juvenile Court on Saturday. The evidence of the police indicated that the offender had secured a dinghy at Island Bay, and rowed out to a launch, which he released from its moorings, evidently intending to go for a cruise in it. He did not, however, manage to make the open sea, but landed ashore in the bay in the dinghy. He was charged with damage and theft in connection with the equipment of the boat. In committing the accused to the Boys’ Probation Home, His Worship said that he had-been, more than anything else, guilty of mischief.
