TO AVOID POVERTY
GERMANS ENLIST IN FRENCH FOREIGN LEGION. Router’s Televram. (Reoeived September 2, 12.45 a.m.) PARIS, August 31. It is reported from Strasbirrg that between 1200 and 1300 Germans enlisted in the French Foreign Legion during the past veair and’: many are still volunteering daily, ascribing their desire to enlist owing to poverty and conditions in Germany.
