VISIT FROM AUSTRALIANS CHAMPIONSHIP ARRANGEMENTS. Tho quarterly meeting of the New Zealand Lawn Tennis Association was held at the Accountants’ Chamber’s last evening, Mr J. C. Peacock presiding. Others present were Messrs P. White Parsons (Auckland), L. J. Berry (Canterbury), P. Grady (Hawke's Bay), J. L. Lord (Marlborough), H. Graves (Otago). E. Salmond (Taranaki), L. C. Hemey, F. P. Wilson, S. Eiehelbaum (Waikato), W. D. Irons (Wanganui), C. G. Turner, A. G. Henderson, W. H. Stainton, and M. E. Denoiston (Wellington), and G. N. Goldie (West Coast). NEW SOUTH WALES TEAM’S VISIT. The management committee reported that -the New South Wales Association had replied to the oommitteels invitation that they had _ decided to send a team of ladies to New Zealand at the -ond of the year. The committee was considering details of a suitable itinerary. NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. A discussion took place on a motion by Mr Henderson to approve a resolution rescinding the decision granting the 1922 New Zealand championship to Taranaki. Mr Salmond said it was only taken away from Taranaki because they could not start on December 26th, when they could have started on the 28th. The committee recommended the association to confirm the action of the council in, deoidine to offer the championships to the Hawto’s Bay Association. ' . ■ * The council’s action was confirmed after Mr Henderson’s motion bad been carried. HASTINGS CHAMPIONSHIP. The management committee reported that arrangements were well under way for the championship meeting at Hastings. The committee’s representatives had inspected the x Hastings Club’s grounds and an active committee was making preliminary arrangements. AUSTRALASIAN ASSOCIATION. Tho committee reported that the New Zealand Association had now withdrawn from the Australasian Tennis Association, and it was resolved to place on record the appreciation of the N.Z.. L.T.A. of the services of the delegates, Messrs V. H. Baxter, H. S'. Cox, Ross Gore, and A. F. Manchel. The committee had decided to apply to the U.S.A. Lawn Tennis Association for recognition as a separate nation.
