LADIES’ GOLF TOURNEY

PLAY AT MIRAMAR SECOND HOUND OP CHAMPIONSHIP. - The ladies’ golf tournament, which is being held at Miramar links was continued yesterday in perfect weather, when the second round of the open championship, the ties in the medal competition of the previous day, ths se cond round of the medal handicap, and a four-ball bogey match were played. There was also a putting competition. In the open championship, Miss Gambrill, with a net score of 168, is leading, and Miss Withers, with 177, is second. Great interest was taken in the events, and in addition to the large number of competitors, there were a considerable number of spectators. Mr J. P. Firth acted as starter, and- carried out the duties in an efficient manner. The best scores in the eeveral events are:— OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. Pirst Second

The play-off between Miss Gambrill, Miss Carter and Miss McClure, whs tied with 82, for the first medal handicap, resulted in Miss McClure being successful. In the junior division, Miss Banks and Miss Duncan, whose scores were equal, played off, and the contest again resulted ln * tie;- each player’s net score being 77. A further game is to take place to-day. FOUR-BALL BOGEY HANDICAP. The best cards returned in tbis competition were those of Bliss Bfantell and Miss McClure, 7 up; Miss Woodman and Miss George, 5 , up; Misses C. and E. Conway, 4 up. BOGEY HANDICAP.
