SUFFERINGS OF SCHOONER CREW. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. SAN FRANCISCO, August 28. The crew of the schooner William H. Smith, which took 213 days to come from the Solomons, allege that the food shipped at Sydney was not fit for consumption. They ate seabirds and sharks, and copra mixed with flour. Finally the auxiliary schooner' Annie Johnson relieved the becalmed and starving voyagers in mid-ocean.
