RHODESIA
PROSPECTS OF UNION STRENGTHENED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. CAPETOWN, August 21. General Smuts has concluded a three weeks’ tour of Rhodesia, where he had an enthusiastic reception. In a speech he emphasised the fact that while he would weloome Rhodesia into the Union the derision was entirely in the people’s own hands. No attempt would he made to influence them. It is evident that the Premier made a great impression, and it is believed that his visit has greatly strengthened the prospects of union.
