LATE LORD NORTHCLIFFE
IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL SERVICE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received August 18, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, August 17. Lord NoTthcliffe was accorded an impressive funeral service in Westminster Abbey. General Cotter represented the Prince of Wales and Sir Edward Grigg the Prime Minister. The American and Frenoh Ambassadors, several members of the diplomatic corps, and Sir James Allen were among those present. United Service Telegram. (Received August 18, 7.40 p.m.) LONDObf, August 17. There wias a great concourse inside and outside the abbey to pay the last tribute to Lord Northoliffe. The long route to the Marylebone cemetery was lined by people of all classes, standing bareheaded, wMIe the coffin,. followed by a seemingly rendless stream of cars, passed. A huge oar laden with floral tributes from, the highest to the humblest further demonstrated the wide esteem ia which Lord Northcliffe was held.
