A PECULIAR CASE WOMAN’S SUDDEN DEATH AT AUCKLAND. MRS O’SHAUGHNESSY AGAIN. PXB PRESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, August 18. The inquest into the death of Mrs Elsie May Fraider, aged twenty-four, who died on Wednesday, at the residence of Mns Imrie, Epsom, was opened before Mr Wilson to-day. A doctor had been unahle to certify to tho cause of death, and a post-mortem examination had been made. It was stated during the proceedings that Mrs Imrie was identified with Mrs O’Shaughnessy. The husband of the deceased said that there were four children, the eldest being about six years old. Hie wife had left Whangarei, where ho resided, last Saturday to come to Auckland to her parents, as be took it for granted. She had informed him about two months ago that she was in a. certain condition, Detccuve-Sergeant Hammond: Did your wife ever mention Mrs Imrie, 76, The Drive, Epsom ? Witness: No, never. Have you ever heard of Mrs O’Shaughnessy ?—Yes. Was your wife down-hearted over her condition, or did she make any suggestion with regard to the matter?— No. If she did have that on her mind she would know that it would be no good saying anything to me. Had your wife ever mentioned Mrs O’Shaughnessy?—No; she never mentioned her name, and I never mentioned it to her. The only thing t have ever heard of Mrs O’Shaughnessy was when she got into trouble some years ago. Cun you give any reason how your wife came to know Mrs Imrie or Mrs O'Shaughnessy ?—I have no idea. Why do you say Mrs O’Shaughnessy? Well, your wife was in her houso. You know what Mrs O’Shaughnessy io? The coroner: Mrs O’Shaughnessy is known now as Mrs Imrie. Witness : Well, that is news to me. Witness said that the first he knew of the house was on the receipt of a telegram on Wednesday reading something like this: ‘‘Come at once. Regret to say your wife has died.” That was the first intimation that he had had of anything being wrong. The inquest was adjourned.
