TAUPO EARTHQUAKES
EXCEPTIONALLY HEAVY SHOCK. MANY LIGHTER TREMORS. VBB FBESS ASSOCIATION. ROTORUA, July 4. A liter a few days, of comparative quiet, the rumblings recommenced at Taupo this morning, and gradually increased, with tremors, till 4.43 p.m., when a shock lasting three minutes name. It was as heavy as any yet felt, but did no damage. The shock was felt at Wharepaina, Wairakei, Mokai, and Oruanui, but thtfre was no damage reported. There were lighter shocks at 6.55 a.m. and 7.10 a.m. None of the shocks were felt at Rotorua.
