FEDERAL CAPITAL
£2,000,000 TO BE EXPENDED. Proposals • for the building of the Federal capital at Canberra to enable Parliament to meet there in about four years’ time have been submitted to the Federal Cabinet by the Minister for Works and Railways, Mr Foster. An expenditure of nearly £2,000,000 will be involved in the erection of the buildings recommended by the Canberra Advisory Committee, which will permit of tho capital being removed from Melbourne. The erection of these buildings will he spread over a period of three years.
