WELLINGTON REFEREES
IRON FIFING FOR FLAGS. Mr B. L. Salmon presided over a meeting of the Wellington Referees’ Association last evening, at which there was a good' attendance. Mr J. M. Downie wrote, enclosing the Wadestown team-sheet, but added that he did not receive one from the Fetone captain. The Petone ground was badly marked out, the lines in places being hardly discernible. Corner flags were in direct contravention of the F. A. rules. Three only were provided, and these consisted of three short lengths of iron tubing. The jerseys, also, of the two teams, were very similar and hard to distinguish. The letter was referred to the Wellington Football Association. THE FORTHCOMING BAZAAR. A letter from the W.F.A. stated that there was every likelihood of the association arranging with the Tramways Band for a bazaar, to he Held later in the year, to raise funds to wipe out the mortgage on Association Park and to build a grandstand on the ground. .Mr A. E. Wells, chairman of the Wellington Football Association, said that the amount of support that had been promised waa very pleasing, Mr C. F. Ward thought the Teferees might manage a stall or a side-show, for they would be pleased to help with the effort. It was agreed to reply that the association would do all .in its power to assist themovement.
