DELEGATES ARRIVE TO-DAY JOINT MFJETING ARRANGED BY COMMERCE CHAMBERS. TO-.MORROW’S FUNCTION. The two Wellington Chambers of Commerce, together with the Industrial Association, are .co-operating in the matter of a joint meeting which has been arranged for Tuosdav afternoon, at 2.30, in the Dominion Farmers’ Institute Hall, Fentherston street, for tho pur nose of affording the business men of Wellington an opportunity to disc-urs matters of trade importance to the Dominion with the members of the British Empire Exhibition Mission. Major E. A. Belcljer, LieutenantColonel A. Christie, and Mr F. W. Bates arrive in Wellington today, and will be accorded, a civic reception at midday on Tuesday, and have expressed their desire to meet as representative n bodv of business men ns possible during their brief stay in Wellington before visiting the other centres of the Dominion. ,

The ol.jeet of their visit is> to exnlain fully the arrangements of the largest trade exhibition yet undertaken, and which will be held in London in 1921. One hundred and twenty acres of ground will be covered by buildings to be erected for the housing of British Empire exhibits, and a sum of £2 000.000 will be spent. Of this sum half has already been guaranteed and the remainder is in sight. The members of the mission whilst in New Zealand will take the opportunity of discussing practical methods of developing the Dominion’s raw materials, and how opportunities may be afforded by the exhibition for the development of Inter-Imperial trade. The two Chambers of Commerce and the Industrial x\ssociaticn are anxious that all members of these organisations, and also all business men who are interested in matters of Inter-Imperial trade, will make a point of attending the meeting of which further particulars appear elsewhere.
