Tho death occurred quite unexpectedly in London last week of Mr George Henry Noble Helmore, a well-known Christchurch solicitor. Mr Helmore left on March 30th. last on a holiday trip, nccom. panied by his wife and youngest daughter. Mr Henry Cfltterill, of Christchurch, was al«o a member of the nartr. Previous advices received in New Zealand had Mated that Mr Helmore was benefiting by his trip, but a caVe on Friday conveyed news of Bis death.

Mr Frank H. Burbush, who for thf Inet three and a half years has been district repatriation officer at Auckland, has resigned that position for health reasons. Upon his return from active service, Mr Burbush was placed in charge of the Soldiers' Information and Employment Bureau, in Victoria street East. * When the repatriation office was opened he was appointed district officer, and had to do a lot of organising work at the outset. The board, at its last kitting, passed a resolution expressing regret at the retirement of Mr Burbush, together with appreciation of the capable manner in which he fulfilled his duty. Mr T.
