“GENEROUS MEASURE” GTVEH AT THE BAR TO M-P.*. In the House of Commons, Sir Agg-Gardncr, Chairman of the Kitchon Refreshment Rooms Committee of tho House, informed Mr C. "White that ho was not aware that any resentment had been created because o! tho slightly increased charge fior liquid refreshment at tho bars and smoking rooms. Tlie email amount of one p«u ny per glass was in consequence of the withdrawal of tho subsidy which bad been in existence for orer fifty years. Whisky was still good value for the price, which was below that charged in clubs and restaurants, and the measure was a generous one. (Laughter.) Mr White: Now that the tea tax has been reduced bv 4d. may wo export- a reduction in the price, especially as members on this side* of tho House arc inveterate tea drinkers? Sir J.
