MORE IMMIGRANTS
ARAWA ARRIVED WITH 125. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s liner Arawa, which arrived at Wellington yesterday from London and Southampton, brought 125 immigrants under the Imperial Overseas Settlement Committee’s scheme, and some were New Zealand Government “nominated" passengers. There were also 33 domestic servants, under charge of Matron Mrs N. Milner. They are for various places distributed throughout the Dominion. The immigrants were booked for the following destinations;—For Auckland, 32; Napier 30; Wanganui, 1; Wellington, 14; Nelson, 1; Picton, 2; Westport, 4; Lyttelton, 13; Oamaru, 1; Timaru, 3; Dunedin, 7: Bluff, 1. The immigrants booked for the South Island left Wellington last evening for Lyttelton by the Mararoa. Those destined for Napier go by the 9.10 o’clock express this morning and the New Plymouth express leaving at 8.20 o’clock this morning will take those bound for Taranaki.
