The Federal Parliament was opened with all pre-war ceremonial. At a meeting of tho Federal Cabinet, Mr W. M. Hughes hinted that" a reduction in taxation was likely, and that a board of directors to manage the Commonwealth Line of shipiiing would bo appointed.
