A critical situation has arisen owing to the Egyptian Government dismissing nineteen foreign officials from the Irrigation Department in the middle of negotiations for the regulation of the position of foreign officials in the Egyptian service. Feeling is running high among foreign officials that dismissals are due to a political motive.
