MR McQUIN’S DEATH
HOW THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED. era pbess association. OAMARU, June 28. Mr Thomas McQuin, auctioneer to the Farmers’ Association, was motoring up a steep road, leading to Hakataramea, at five o’clock yesterday in a blinding storm, and, in the darkness, failed to recognise a bad turn in tho road. In consequence, the ear went over a bank and capsized. The accident was, shortly afterwards, discover, ed by Mr W. McCulloch, who conveyed Messrs McQuin and J. Matheson of Waimate, who accompanied Mr McQuin, to thedfakataramoa Hotel, where a doctor was promptly in attendance. Mr McQuin was so seriously injured that he lingered till 9 o'clock, when be expired. Mr Matheson had a leg fractured above the knee, besides other injuries. He was conveyed to the Waimate Hospital.
