TO COMMEMORATE PEACE
VICTORIA BOWLING CLUB. TECHNICAL COLLEGE BURSARIES. At last night’s meeting of the Victoria Bowling Club the correspondence between the club and the V eMington Technical College was read, relative to the awarding by the Technical School of two bursaries, established by the club in commemoration of peace after the late war. The report made by the Victoria Bowling Club’s directors on the gubjeot was as follows: Members will be pleased to know that the club’s intention to commemorate peace has been fulfilled. The sum of £IOO having been paid over to the Wellington Technical School Board, this amount, together with tho Government subsidy thereon, creates a corpus of £2OO, this the board has accepted and constituted as a perpetual trust for the purpose of providing an annual income of £lO, so that “two bursaries each of the value of £o may bo awarded annually to the two second-year students at the "Wellington Technical School who show most promise, having attained the highest positions in the year’s work, and the annual examination.” Each bursarv will be known ns tho “Viotoria Bowling Club’s Peace Commemoration Bursary.” A sum of £lO was also handed to the board to enable the bursaries to be immediately available, and as this was a volun'ary donation it aloe carried subsidy, and the Technical School Board has made use of this by awarding bursaries to two students of the previous year. A formal communication has been received from the directors of the Technical School informing the club of the awarding of the bursaries ns follows: Year 1920. —Art, Vera Nisbet; engineering, Gordon Sando. Year 1921.—Engineering, Harold Smith and Victor Holst.
