The Maori League footballers played Metropolitan as a curtain-raiser to the match Kangaroos v, Australasia. Although the home team was only about one-fourth the beet New South Wales combination, the visitors Tarely penetrated the former’s territory. Metropolitan were six to nil at the interval, and afterwards scored with monotonous rapidity. The Maoris’ tackling was pathetically weak. The final scores were: — •Metropolitan 38 (Ten tries and four goals.) Maoris 6 The Kargaroos beat the Rest of Australia by 35 to 24. Faulkner was carried off the field with a leg fractured above the ankle.
