PRIZE FOR NATIONAL SONO. SCOUTMASTERS’ UNIFORM. per press association. CHRISTCHTRCH, May 31. The question of having a New Zealand national song for boy scouts came up for discussion at tbo annual mectring of tho Roy Scouts Association. Jklr Ferriman (Ashburton) said it was necessary to have a song which won’d interest all boys. Jt would have to be brief and should incorporate the three points, “God,” “The King,” and ‘'The l3ov. ’ f Mr L. M. Isitt, M.P., said he thought the idea an excellent one, and it was decided to offer a prize for a suitable song. There was a long discussion on the question of tho proposed chuige in the scoutmasters’ uniform. * ,
The chairman said that after all it was a question for scoutmasters themselves. The old uniform Lad served ite purpose for many years, and there was no reason why i: eliou'd not continue to do so. It was decided that no alteration be made.
