Progress report for fortnight ended May 17th, 1922: - Mount Lyell Mine.—Main pillar heading extended to 46ft, and cross pillar heading to 20ft, in schist debris; mullooking ttopes and securing workings nearing completion. North Mount Lyell Mine, 7<Kft't level. No. 15 rise to 74ft, in pyritized quartzite; 1000 ft level, No, 3 north drive to 153 ft, through pyritized quartzite mineralised with chalcocyrite; No. 19 rise lifted sft, in fair grade ore; No. 26 rise to 7ft, in mixed ore and schist and pyritized quartzite. Reduction Works.—One furnace in blast during fortnight; 3921 tons of blister copper consigned to the refinery for the current year. Concentrator mill operated 317 hours, and treated 3359 tona ore, producing 306 tons jig concentrates, and 667 tons dotation concentrates. WHEAT CARGOES. ABSENCE OF DEMAND Australian and N.Z. The Nilemede shipment realised 47s for a parcel, and at Liverpool, ex Trevithick, the prices obtained were 56s and. 55e 9d. PRODUCE PRICES. THE CHRISTCHURCH MARKET. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH. May 30. The market {generally is on the dull side, although there is a steady demand) for seeds. Good milling wheat continues to be disposed of as it comes in, but the position is different as far as undergrade wheat is concerned. Oats are just us hard to sell as they were last week, inquiries for them being few and far be* tween. Ryegrass and cocksfoot are selling well, principally for delivery about the end of July and tho beginning of August. Indications are that there will be a good demand for these for spring. Partridge peas are still selling firmly at Be, and. in a few cases another sixpence or so is being paid. Linseec] still is quoted at last week's rates. It ie stated, however, that Australian buyers are not prepared to pay this figure and as the formers are reluctant to take less, there Is not much doing in this line. .Potatoes are dull of sale, but the opinion is expressed that better prices will be obtainable before Jong. RAETI'HI SALE. Abrahams and Williams, Ltd., report a email yarding of sheep and cattle at the Raetihi yards on tho 26th inst. There was a small attendance of the public, and bidding was dull throughout, but the bulk of the yarding was sold under the hammer at late values.
