MANAWIATU RUGBY UNION. (Special to the “Tunes.”) The annual report and balance-sheet of the Manawatu Rugby Union showed a credit /balance of £261 2s lid and £4OO on deposit. It was pointed out tiiat .as far as the standard of cluh •football was concerned they had not succeeded in getting hack to the standard that had been attained some ybars ago. It was recognised that players must have training facilities, and the union was going into the question. The election of officers resulted as follows: —'Patron, Mr H. F. Gibbons; president, Mr A. M. Ongjley; vicepresidents, Messrs A. Hannay and W. Turner (Palmerston Nortn), Mr Thomas Collins (Feildiug); secretary, Mr J. B. Proud; treasurer, Mr J. R. Hardiej hon. surgeon, Dr. Hunter Will; delegates from Referees’ Association, Mr D. D. Williams; management committee, Messrs C. White, J. Colquhoun, J. Stalker, A. S. Faire, W. Caxruthere, D. Rowland and J. Devine.
