BANKRUPT CHARGED

MASTERTON CARRIER’S AFFAIRS CASE TO GO TO THE SUPREME COURT. (Special to the “Times.”) MASTERTON, March 18. Ernest Robert Ward, carrier, was charged at'The court to-day, upon the information of Arthur D. Low, Deputy-Official Assignee, with having committed breaches of the Bankruptcy Act, There were four charges, as follow : 1. That Ward did, within three years before ’the commencement of 'his bankruptcy, fail to keep such books of accounts as are usual and proper in the business carried on by him and as to sufficiently set forth his business transactions and disclose , his financial position. 2. That he did, between March Ist and April 30th, 1921, contract a debt of £ll 16s Id to Allan and Co. without having at the time any reasonable or probable expectations of being able to pay the same as well as all his other debts.

3 and 4. The two other charges were eiiqilar to iso. 2, the debts in question being one contracted with Wilton and Jenkin for £l3 11s and another with Andrews and Rolph for £29 Is 3d. After evidence had been beard, the magistrate committed the accused for trial on all' four charges at the next sitting of the Supreme Court at Masterton. The accused was admitted to bail in his own bond of £IOO.
