RESULTS AT CHRISTCHURCH. RUNNING AND CYCLING EVENTS. PSB PRESS ASSOCIATION. GJIBISTCHCBCK, March 17. The St. Patrick's Association sports commenced to-day. There was a good attendance, but a fairly strong scath westerly wind blew during the afternoon. The following are the results of the cash events 44£yda New Zealand Championship—W. F. Trembath (the ex-amateur champion), Invercargill, 1: Symister. Christchurch, 2; Nahr, Westport, 8. Wpn easily by twelve yards. Steel, the "All Blank" threeouarter, wag running second, but fell three yards from the tape. Time, 53 l-seec. Mile, New Zealand Championship—L. Coulter, Geraldine, 1; Sutherland, Pifmerston South, A Won by ten yards. Time, Ximt.. 4ft l-Seec. Trembath. won the 440yds Handicap in 51 l-ssoc. Cash cycling results:— Two Milo New Zealand Championship— P. O’Shea, Christchurch, lj Biroh, Christchuroh, 2t Wells, Blenheim, 8. Won very easily. Time, smin 41seo. Five Miles, Australasian Championship —George Hill, Canterbury. All the competitors were Christchurch men, O’Shea fell. Won oamiurtably. Time, 18ml n Afieec.
In the amateur events Taylor won the 100yds Handicap, and in the 88tods Handicap, Taylor, from scratch, finished fifth.
