OBITUARY
H. B. MARRIOTT WATSON, AUTHOR. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received October 31, 7.85 p.m.) LONDON, October 29. / Mr H. B. Marriott Watson, the author, is deadMr Henry Brereton Marriott Watson, 8.A., was born at Caulfield, Melbourne, m 1863, and at toe age of nine came to New Zealand with'his‘ parents. He was educated at the Grammar 1 School, Christchurch, and at Canterbury College, and went to England in 1885, where he took up journalism. He was the author of numerous novels, being a most prolific writer, and was jointauthor with Mr J. M. Barrie of the play “Richard Savage.” Mr Watson had been assistant editor of “Black and White,” and the “Pall Mali Gazette,” and was on the staff of the “National Observer.” , PROMINENT AUSTRALIANS. „ By Telegraph—Uw' Assn.—Copyright.
