FIRST QUARTER’S FICURES RECEIPTS, £5,080,195; EXPENDITURE, £8,081,370. COMPARATIVE FIGURES. A statement of the receipts and expenditure of the Consolidated Fund tor the quarter ending June 30th, 1021 and 1920, respectively, was published in yesterday's "Gazette,” and the figures given are more than usually interesting. For the first quarter of the present financial year, the receipts (including a balance of £8,591,208 brought forward* totalled £113,671,403, as against £23,861.521 (including a balance of £17,335,976 brought forward)- for the first quarter of 1920-21. The expenditure for the past quarter aggregated £8,061,370, as compared witn £6,628,830 for the corresponding quarter of 1920-21.

The balance in hand at the end of last quarter was £5,590.033, against £17,232,601 at the end of Juno, 1920.
