QUESTION OF STATE AID
POSITION DISCUSSED BY CABINET AWAITING MR. MASSEY’S RE , TURN. Sir Frtancis Bell (Acting-Prime Minis, ter) was approached by a “Times” representative yeeterdav afternoon with regard to the declaration of the Dominion Farmers’ Union conference that the establishment of a producers* shipping company should be energetical - ly proceeded with, and the suggestion made in the course of .the discussion that tile State should subsidise the movement. “Tlie whole shipping position, including the question of a State subvention. has been discussed by Cabinet,” stated Sir Francis, “and it is also being considered at Home by Mr Massey. It his been decoded, however, that the whole matter shall stand over until Mr Massey’s return, about the end of September next.”
