A CYCLIST’S DEATH
JURY’S OUTSPOKEN VERDICT. rwa pans* associatioh. GISBORNE, July 26. An inquest was held to-day concerning the death of Eugene Doherty, aged 20, who died as the result of injuries received through being knocked down When cycling home, by a motor-car driven by Norman MaoFarland Fulton. The jury returned the following verdict : ‘ ‘JDoherty met his death by being run over by a motor-car on July 9tn, the said motor-car being driven by Norman Fulton, who, we consider, was under the influence <rf liquor at the time of the accident.” Fulton was subsequently charged with manslaughter, and a remand was' granted till August 4th. Bail was allowed in £260 and one surety in a similar amount.
