PATEA RIFLE CLUB
THE ANNUAL MEETING. There was a large attendance at the annual meertriing of the Patea Rifle Club on Saturday. Deputy-president Rifle*man EL Thompson presided in the absence of the president (Mr P. Palmer). The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of <£27 15s for the year. The following officers were elected for the ensuing term: —President, *Mr P. Palmer; secretary, Mr W. Pettittj deputy-presi-dent, Mr E. Thompson (re-elected); committee, Messrs L. White, L. Williams, L. Willis, and Gordon. Mr M. Carey was appointed, handicapper and Mr J. Hi Oronin auditor. A hearty welcome was extended .to new members, who were invited to supper and a social evening. Special reference was made by the deputy-presi-dent to the splendid services rendered to the club by the secretary, Mr L. W. Pettitt, who was the recipient of a handsome eight-day clock, presented by the members of the club.
