PERMITTED TO LAND AT SYDNEY. 1 By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. - (Received Alay 11, 8 p.m.) ■SYDNEY, May 11. E. Newton, a native of New Zealand, who waeTdetained on the Riverina, was allowed to land. The Home Department explains that there was no evidence of disloyalty in his conduct. The only reason for his refusing to take the oath of allegiance was that his religious belief would not allow him to do so. He was quite willing to affirm his loyalty. _]
