FALSE FIRE ALARMS
ALLEGED OFFENDERS CAUGHT, To-morrow two young men will be brought before the court to answer a charge of maliciously giving a false alarm to the Fire Brigade. It is alleged that the accused broke the alarm glass and pressed the button iof the street alarm at the corner of Courtenay place and Tory street without legitimate cause, and also at tne corner of PLrie street and Cambridge terrace. It is mid the accused were found under circumstances that point to them as the offenders. The incident is said to have occurred shortly after II o’clock on Sunday night, April 3rd, when half the brigade was attending the fire on the R..M.S. Tahiti. Another man will be charged with a similar offence next week, having, if is alleged, been caught in the act of giving the alarm from a street box at 4 o’clock in the morning at the corner of Wellington terrace and Boulcott street.
