BUDGET INTRODUCED IN HOUSE - OF COMMONS. NO TARIFF CHANGES. . , Axistrali&a %ad NX Cable Association (Received May 10, -7.5 p.m.) OTTAWA, May 9. The. Budget was brought 'down in the -House of Commons this evening by Sir Henry Dayton, Minister for Finance. It makes no tariff changes, except provisions . for completing a trade agreement with the West. Indies The Customs Act changes provide for stricter supervision. tQ„, prevent the “dumping"’ of domestic or imported goods. Sales taxes are increased. The revenue for 1920-21 was 432,000,000 dollars, and tho expenditure 533,368,077. The estimated revenue for 192122 is 373,000,000 dollars, and tho esti- : mated expenditure 591,437,697. The revenue to be raised thus amounts to 435,360,971. The surplus over ordinary expenditure in 1920-21 was 69,400,000 dollars. The new taxation provides 62,760,971 dollars. Tho national debt amounts to 2,350,236,700 dollars.
