THE BONUS QUESTION
PRESENT POSITION INDEFINITE. ANNOUNCEMENT IN FEW DAYSBefore the Arbitration Court rose yesterday, (Mr J. Read said he presumed that the court would hear applications for the bonus. The president of the court (Mr Justice Frazer) said the position was,a" little bit indefinite at present. The bonus question was one of the matters the court was working on now. They had to consider quite a number of things, and were having a difficult task to go into everything. They hoped, however; to make a definite announcement in the course of the next few days. The president added that he did not know whether the court would be able to deal with the applications before it went to Napier (in about a fortnight), but in any case, it would he back in Wellington again in a week after that.
