A matter which cams before the Advisory Council of the Young Citizens’ League (writes the “Times” Auckland correspondent), is one of more than passing interest to , the whole community in these days of public apathy irf the duties of citizenship The Rev. A. B. Chappell. AI.A., registrar of the Auckland University College, and a member of the Advisory Council of the League, is compiling a catechism it if intended to circulate among members of the league ahd all others who desire to study it, and after an examination it is proposed to issue, diploma* to .echo 1 " ' and others who give evidence of full knowledge of theii responsibilities a* citizens. This citizenship catechism will embrace questions on citizenship, patriotism, civic rights, and general knowledge on the government of thp country, both national and local. It is anticipated that it will arouse a very much keener interest in all matters pertaining to eooU government, and l that the result must be beneficial to the whole community.
