THE BUTTER MARKET
WEAK AND IRREGULAR. _ Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 6th inst.:—“Butter—Market very weak and irregular. Danish, 1955. Government has reduced price for their 'stock; New Zealand 1925, Australian 186 s, third grade 1765. Substantial further reduction in price will probably have to be made before stock finally cleared. There are still large quantities of Government butter remaining in buyers’ hands unsold. Cheese—-Temporary shortage continues. Present quotation for New Zealand coloured, 156 s to 1625; white, 138 s to 1445.”CABLE FROM LONDON. NEW ZEALAND BUTTER, 198 s. „ Messrs A. H. Turnbull advise: “We are in receipt of the following cable from Messrs W. Weddell and oC., Ltd., London, under date- 6th inst.: ‘Further eclane butter, Danish quoted 190 s to 200 a, New Zealand 196 s to 198 s; extremely slow.”
