“ PARKING " MOTOR CARS
BY-LAW AMENDMENT SOUGHT. During the last meeting of the Wellington Automobile Club a member of the committee reported that the traffic inspector had intimated to him that he was breaking the by-law. by parking his oar on certified parking-places with tho engine facing th# pavement. It was pointed out that in large towns in America and Great Britain it is usual to park cars diagonally with the engine near the kerb. It was decided to write the City Council asking that this by-]aw be amended stating that there were various advantages in parking a car in such a way y furthermore, it would not have the effect of the hood of the oar and possible spare tyres jutting over the pavement
