IN HEART OF LONDON. In Lanibton quay, near Woodward street, there is on view a splendid lithographic specimen of modern architecture in modem classic design. This building is now in course of erection for the association of firms now known as the A.G.E., otherwise I the Agricultural ■ and General Engineers, Ltd., an association of fourteen I important English firms who are devoting their energies to manufacturj ing agricultural implements, plough- | ing tractors, road-rollers, steam engines, freezing plant, etc. The necessities of this combination jof manufacturers demanded a central [home as showrooms and offices in the business hub of the universe; and on historical ground in London, and on the actual site of the Danish settlement named by the Danish emigrant Aldwych, is being erected this imposing structure for the firm in question, at a cost of £500,000, and covering an area of over 30,000 feet, having a frontage of 213 ft to Aldwych, of ten floors, and having over 300 rooms. The expanding business of this firm' has necessitated, with truly British instinotiveness, as a solvent of the problems of future trade, the establishing of resident agents in various countries such as South America, in the Balkans, South Africa, Morocco, Australia, and as their outpost „of Empire have established a resident branch agency in Wellington, this office being now situated in the Dominion Insurance Company’s building, Panama street.
