MISAPPREHENSION REMOVED. There has been some mieapprehension recently [regarding the diplomatio representation or France in Now Zealand, arid a report has become current that the V i co-Co nsu.l a te, hitherto located in Auckland, is to bo removed to Wellington. coincident with a change in its controller. This is not the case. M. Hippeau, the French Vice-Consul in Auckland, who is represented in Wellington by a Consular agent,- is on holiday leave, and is going to visit France. His place is temporarily taken by M. Beauregard, vrho will retain Sit until M. Hippeau retvems. M. Beauregard has recently been appointed to the new poet of Consul at Washington, and will proceed to Ameirita as soon as M. Hippeau returns. No change in the looation of the Vice-Consul is contemplated.
