MUNICIPAL BRICKWORKS

A QUESTION IN THE COUNCIL. “Are we going to hear anything further about the municipal brickworks?” asked Councillor W. H. Bennett at last night’s meeting of the City Council. “The months are flying by, and these works should have been up by now and supplying the needs of the city.” A report had been promised on the subject, he added, but it had not yet been brought down. The Mayor Stated that tho matter had not been forgotten; it was a question of time and money, and the report would come up in good rime. Councillor C. H. Chapman asked incidentally when the report upon the selection of a site for the proposed city markets would be forthcoming. The Mayor said that the city engineer, in whose hands the matter' lay, jjfas fully engaged with other questions at present, and would give the report his. attention in due oourse.
