POULTRYMEN CONFER

WELLINGTON DISTRICT ASSOCIATION. The first annual meeting of the Wellington District Poultry Farmers’ Association was held at the Hall, Lamhton quay, yesterday morning, Mr Willoughby Knight (president) in the chair. The annual report and the balance-sheet, which showed a substantial credit balanoe, were adopted on the motion of the president. A discussion ensued as to the best methods of securing poultry foodstuffs of the best quality and at more reasonable prices. The sub-committee appointed to deal with the matter —Messrs Willoughby Knight, Mumby, and I. Sykes (secretary)—reported that several leading firms had been approached and negotiations were still in progress. Upwards of a dozen new members ■wera enrolled at the meeting, making the total membership over fifty. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mr A. G. Mumby; vice-presidents. Messrs F. H. Cooper and D. McArthur; executive, Messrs J. Selater, D. Daniels, H. Foief. C. W. Harris, C. Bushby, and R. Wyliie.
