PORT NICHOLSON CLUB’S RACES. Despite the sudden gale that came up early on. Saturday afternoon the Port Nicholson Yacht dub held two out of their three "points" races—the third of the season, A signal was flown from the clubhouse indicating that the races would be sailed'under the handicaps for a moderate breeze. The wind, however, increased to a gale at times, and some of the yachts found themselves over-canvassed. The course was 11 7.10 nautical miles. •Following are the results:— First-class Handicap—Wanderer. 7min, finishing time Shr 20min, lets Wairero 11., 13min, shr 26min 40see, 2. The limit boat started at 3 p.m. Also started—Marangi, scr, shr 32min 45eeo; Rona, Bsec, 51ir 34min SOsec; Atalanta. 7min, shr 39min ,15sec; Ailsa, 9min, shr 30min ISsec: Viol a< 14min, shr Slmin 15sec. .Second-class Handicap—Muritai, ISmin, finishing time Shr 33min 45sec.
