VARIOUS EVENTS HELD IN GOOD WEATHER. PER PBESS ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, January 30. Anniversary Day was* celebrated yesterday. There was good weather and the principal attractions, which were Takapuna races and the Auckland regatta, passed off successfully. The motor launch speed championship of New Zealand, over a twelve mile course, was won by W. McK. Ueddes’s Haruru, whose speed works out at 16J- knots. Ihe Defender, the only other starter, did 16 knots, and was beaten by lmin, 2sec.
