THE GOVERNMENT'S, OFFER, =*R PRESS ABSOOIATIOH. OHRISTCHURCtH, January .28. The Government has intimated,' to a number of large taxpayers' that it_ is prepared to give terms in connection with the payment of income tax. It will accept one-third of the amount in cash and take two promissory notes of three and six months respectively for the balances.
