The Shaw, Savill and Albion Company’s liner Arawa left Tiraaxu at 8 o’clock yesterday morning for Wellington, whero she is due early this morning to complete Homeward loading. The vessel is fixed to sail from Wellington at daybreak next Saturday for Southampton and London via Panama. UNION COMPANY’S LATEST. The sixth ex-German steamer purchased by the Union Company from the British Government, the Antwerpen, ie a vessel of 4700 tons deadweight, with a gross tonnage of 3080. Her principal dimensions are:—Length, 310 ft; beam, ,42ft; depth, 18fti cubic capacity, 183,500 feet. There are four holds, eight winches, and nine derricks. . The vessel Is fitted with a triple expansion engine of 1300 i.h.p. Her speed runs between 9 and 10 knots per hour. She is in good order, and wil] .be handed over after inspection at Liverpool. With general cargo from the West Coast ports of the United Kingdom the Antwerpen will sail for Australia and New Zealand. THE KUMARA. * Cable advice has been received by the Shaw, Savill and Albion Company- that the Kumara left Newcastle at'B o’clock yesterday morning for NerV Plymouth to commence Homeward loading. The vessel is due at the Taranaki port on Wednesday, and will afterwards load at Wanganui and Wellington. She is to leave Wellington on February 17th for London via Panama. THE CANADIAN HIGHLANDER. Next week Dalgety and Co. will take over the Wellington agency- for the costal steamer Baden Powell, which will continue Tunning between Wellington and Lyttelton. The British-India steamer Ganges, which arrived at Auckland from Calcutta. via ports, on Wednesday afternoon, left Calcutta on December 22nd, and called-at Java, Singapore, Samarang, Thursday Island, and Sydney en route. Fine weather was experienced throughout the trip. The vessel will discharge all of her cargo for the Dominion—l2oo tons —at Auckland, the southern portion being forwarded by a coastal steamer. She will then proceed, to Fiji, where she will embark coolies for Calcutta. LANGTON HALL FROM U.S.A. The Federal Line liavei been notified by cable that the steamer Langton Hall, under charter to the A. and A. Line, left Newnort News on January Bth, and New York on January 22nd, cargo-laden, for Auckland, Wellington, Brisbane, and Sydnav. The vessel is due at Auckland about February 26th, and at Wellington a week later. THE RUAHINE. The. New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruahine left Wellington last evening for Auckland to complete discharge of her London cargo. She will then load at Auckland, Napier and Wellington. The vessel is due hack here on Fehruarv 15th, and is to sail from Wellington on the 22nd proximo for Southampton and London via Panama. PAPAROA'S - PROGRAMME. The Now Zealand Shipping Corapanv advise that the liner Paparoa is to leave Dunedin on Tuesday for Lyttelton and Wellington to complete her cargo. She is due here to-morrow week, and is to sail from Wellington on February 12th ior London via Panama. THE NGAHERE. The Blackball 'Coal Company’s steamer Ngahere was discharging coal at Gisborne yesterday, and is expected to reach Wellington late to-night with 470 tons of coal—remainder of her cargo from Greymouth. She will hunker the Orari at this port. THE LINE® OPAWA. The Now Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Opawa left Dunedin yesterday morning for Auckland to load for Home.
